Cannes, France, October 14, 2026: IndiaJoy unveiled its ninth edition at MIPCOM Cannes today, inviting the international media and entertainment industry to explore content, production and investment opportunities in India. The event will take place from December 7 to 13, 2026, at Bharat Future City, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana state in southern India, is a major technology and filmmaking centre with an established animation, visual effects and gaming ecosystem.

IndiaJoy offers international businesses a platform to connect with this ecosystem and explore partnerships serving Indian and global audiences.

Organised by the Government of Telangana and the Telangana VFX, Animation and Gaming Association (TVAGA), IndiaJoy will come under the umbrella of the Invest Telangana Global Summit for the first time. The Summit takes place from December 7 to 9 at the same venue, connecting the creative industries with a broader gathering of investors, business leaders and policymakers.

The Cannes launch brought together B. Ajith Reddy, Chief Executive Officer, Invest Telangana; Anudeep Durishetty, Joint Secretary for Information Technology, Government of Telangana; Vallabi A, Director for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics, Government of Telangana; Rajiv Chilaka, Founder of Green Gold Animation and President of TVAGA; and Madhava Reddy Yatham, Mike, General Secretary of TVAGA and Founder of Rotomaker.

For international producers and studios, IndiaJoy will offer opportunities to identify animation and visual effects partners, explore co-productions and meet creative talent. Content buyers, broadcasters and streaming platforms can discover Indian films, animation and original intellectual property, while distributors can explore licensing, localisation and routes into Indian markets.

Gaming companies and technology providers can connect with developers, showcase products and explore publishing and technology partnerships. Investors can meet creative businesses and startups, while companies considering operations in India can engage with Telangana government representatives on investment opportunities, infrastructure and talent requirements.

The programme will feature 11 events: Hyderabad Comic Con, DreamHack Hyderabad, VFX Summit, DesiToons, WAVES Bazaar, Indie Game Utsav, Film & Broadcast Expo, Indian Film Conclave, IndiaJoy B2B, Art India and AI Film Festival.

Animation and film content markets, business matchmaking, investor interactions and meetings with government representatives will sit alongside conferences, experience zones, product launches, screenings and entertainment evenings. Industry and academic roundtables will explore skills and workforce development, while discussions on global capability centres will examine opportunities for international companies to establish specialised operations in the region.

The theme, “Stories, Games, Dreams,” coined by Sanjay Jaju, Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana, reflects IndiaJoy’s ambition to connect storytelling and creative talent with technology and business.

Founded in 2018, IndiaJoy has attracted more than 70,000 participants and 10,000 delegates from over 10 countries, according to its organisers. Its integration with the Invest Telangana Global Summit gives international participants an opportunity to explore creative partnerships and investment prospects within a single visit.
