Even as the world celebrates the day of love – Valentine’s Day – folks in the sub-continent are counting down the hours in anticipation of the biggest game of the year on the biggest platform in the sport that is Cricket.
15 February, 2015 will be the sixth instance that the two neighbouring nations will clash at the World Cup of Cricket and Pakistan will attempt to once again break the jinx of not managing to ever come up on top of the previous five ‘wars of the battlefield’.
This time around the two nations will be on neutral soil and will look to capitalize on any opportunity that presents itself to be triumphant.
AnimationXpress.com scavenged through the World Wide Web to get its readers some games to play simultaneously to ease the tension in this nail biting encounter, but alas could only manage to find a couple worth the while.
One of the games that came out in 2013 is India vs Pakistan 2013 from the stable of Zapak Mobile Games. This is a puny sized 1.6 megabyte game with decent graphics and sound and has over 300,000 installs. The gameplay is simple, where you get to play both sides on your choice and also get to test your skills with the red cherry as well as the English willow.
There are three game modes, you could either wear whites and play a full-fledged Test match, or could play the 50-over format and if you are in the mood for some fast paced action then you could try the slam-bam 20 over format. There is also the 5-over quick play mode option to just test your skills as well.
For a game developed by Jump Games nearly two years ago, it has some really cool sound effects and design, to the point you actually get the feeling of playing in front of a crowd each time a wicket falls or the balls flies over the boundary line.
The other game that we came across was one online game on The GameBox a part of the Mid-Day daily called India vs Pakistan. Unlike the game published by Zapak, this only allows you to bat and not bowl, also it takes the more patriotic route wherein you only play as India and chase targets against the Pakistan cricket team in either a 3 over – 5 over – 10 over format, with the difficulty increasing in terms of the target that needs to be achieved in the stipulated overs.
So what are you waiting for? Experience the thrill as these two nations come to a stand-still and witness a cricket match that has bigger consequences than winning the World Cup itself! Get ready to ignite your raw passion for cricket. Which side are you on?
