During the time when Warner Bros. studio is receiving negative reviews about its superhero films, seems like the reviews won’t back down the studio from producing more films. As we all know that Superman is set to reprise his role in Justice League post his death in Batman v Superman, he will also be seen in his own solo movie.
As reported by The Wrap, Henry Cavill’s Superman is set to fly solo again in a sequel to Man of Steel. Released in 2013, produced by Christopher Nolan and directed by Zack Snyder, Man Of Steel kick started the DC Cinematic Universe and went on to earn $668 million at the global box office. Henry Cavill was also seen in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which grossed in about $872 million, failed to appease the fans despite Superman’s battle with Batman.
According to The Wrap, a solo Superman movie is a “top priority” for Warner, and that restoring the character’s reputation, and getting him right this time, is of tantamount importance to the DCEU, as a whole.
When will the sequel come out is a question unanswered as going by the DCEU slate, there are two untitled slates; October, 2018 and November, 2019. It’s to be noted that a Batman standalone film is also set to release so it’s quite possible that one of these dates is reserved for Superman while the other for Batman.
So for now, one can witness the krypton hero on the big screen in 2017’s Justice League along with Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg.
