Punisher Netflix

With The Punisher coming into the picture, we can expect him to also be a part of the miniseries crossover – Defenders. The MCU has not only managed to capture the cinematic and television market but with The Punisher coming into the picture and the success of Daredevil and Jessica Jones series, it has now captured the Netflix audience as well.

The series will be based on Marvel’s comic character of the same name. In the comic space, The Punisher‘s brutal nature and willingness to kill made him a novel character in mainstream American comic books and he went on to be a part of a wave of psychologically troubled antiheroes and at the height of his popularity, was featured in three monthly publications, including The Punisher War Journal, The Punisher War Zone, and The Punisher Armory.

Netflix and Marvel are expected to publicly announce the project later Friday. As of now, the writer and executive producer for the spin-off series would be Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) who will serve as showrunner.
