Hello Games’ open world (or universe), space exploration game, No Man’s Sky was one of the most anticipated releases of this year. After being announced three years back and delayed quite a few instances, the company finally released the game on 9 August and fans could not wait to get their hands on the game. And then came a huge outcry from the community as everyone complained that they did not get the game they had been promised by the developers. Agitated fans asked for refunds on Steam and in a matter of a few days No Man’s Sky was one of the most controversial games of the year from one of the most anticipated.
While Hello Games have kept mum on the subject for a while now, recently some tweets from the Hello Games’ official Twitter account created quite a stir. The tweet said, ‘No Man’s Sky was a mistake’.
Although the tweet was deleted soon as the official twitter account transitioned itself to private, it was too late to stop the flurry of reactions from the community. Apparently some emails were also received by various publications where Sean Murray, the most visible face from Hello Games during the promotion, confirmed that the tweet was in fact from him. However, soon Sean Murray came on from his official account, which was not in use since 18 August and clarified the situation.

If anything was a mistake, it was using Linked In without 2FA.

As Forbes reported, a representative from the company told them that the tweet was sent by a “Disgruntled employee” and even Mashabale said that Sean Muraay has asserted them that, “The tweet came from a disgruntled employee” and “We’re currently trying to solve the issue internally.”
The twitter account is back online now.
.@NoMansSky 100% not hacked anymore… obviously those mails and that tweet were fake. Back to work 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
