It just feels like yesterday when Jon Snow’s steward Olly put the last blade into Jon stabbing him fatally, leading to him lie in a pool of his own blood. HBO since then has been saying that Jon Snow is dead and as dead he can be and was not going to return for another season.
But with popular characters one cannot be sure until the season starts to air. HBO’s new teaser poster which was released recently suggests that the character is indeed alive, bloodied, distraught but ALIVE! His eye is weeping, weeping blood…
For quite a while, just after the season was over, the internet was flooded with fan theories about Jon’s return and the different ways he would be resurrected, but along with the channel – the producers and the actor Kit Harrington too were denying that he was filming for the new season. But, he was then clicked on the TV show’s sets in Belfast filming, featuring a rumoured battle scene at The Wall (Have the White Walkers arrived?)
Jon Snow’s character is important to the book and for quite some time the book and TV series have been trying to be as different from each other as possible. The resurrection will not only affect the TV show and the upcoming season, but also the new book, which the author George R.R Martin plans to release next year. Jon’s past too is something of a mystery. His parentage and a possible connection to a certain Targaryen (shh shh, you did not read it here).
With the first of the promo art for the sixth season of Game of Thrones out, fans will be digging the net everyday for something on the series and new posters as and when they turn up. The season will start its epic journey in April again, till then such posters and rumours will keep the fans hooked and await more plot reveals.
