Harry Baweja dabbles in animation with his feature ‘Chaar Sahibzaade’

Harry Baweja, an Indian film director is set to direct an animation feature titled ‘Char Sahibzade’ – a film on the lives of the four sons of tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh. The movie’s budget is rumored to be anywhere between Rs 15 to Rs 20 crore – the highest ever for an animation film related to the Sikh religion.

This 3D animation film is produced by Rowena Girneet Baweja with dialogues by Baldev Gill and Animation services provided by Interactive Realities Pvt Ltd.

‘Chaar Sahibzaade’ is the story of four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji – Sahibzaada Ajit Singh, Sahibzaada Jujhar Singh, Sahibzaada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzaada Fateh Singh. The film is set to release worldwide on 6 November, 2014 with projection in both 3D and 2D and in multiple languages including Punjabi, Hindi and English.

For the First time in the 100 years of Indian Cinema, a Feature Film in Animation, based on Sikh History, depicting the Four Sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji is being produced.

“This is the first time that such a film is being made on such a subject in the history of cinema – We are also not allowed to even animate Guru Gobind Singh, that’s why he is in still (image) form in the film. So, it’s not that we forgot to animate him, it is not permissible actually. That’s why he is there in static form,” stated Harry Baweja recently at an event.

Harry Baweja is better known for his Bollywood movies such as Dilwale, Karz, Qayamat, Karam, his last release was the 2008 released sci-fi romance Love Story 2050.
