The animation studio that gave us the hit kid series Chhota Bheem, Mighty Raju, Chorr Police, Luv Kushh and Krishna Balram has successfully established its ground in the merchandising line with its Green Gold Store. The store currently has its footprint in 16 cities and is all set to expand in Tier I and Tier II cities.
Speaking exclusively to AnimationXpress.com, Green Gold Stores head, Sudeesh Varma reveals further details of the expansion plans for the store. “We are currently looking at Tier I and Tier II cities basically at mini metros and capital cities. We would like to have our presence in cities like Lucknow, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Noida. These are some of the top tier II cities that I have in mind at the moment. Apart from that we plan to set up more stores in international market. Since Green Gold has a good reach in the vibrant South East Asia marketplace, we would like to open stores there as well.”
We witnessed Green Gold Store open its first international outlet in Singapore’s Changi Airport. It’s been about two months since it has opened and currently the store is doing reasonably good. Sudeesh stated, “Since our brand is comparatively new, we are getting a decent response over there. We have to create more awareness and for that we are using the social media platform. Promos about the store have been carried out in the local radio channel and we are planning to push it further by promoting on local websites. Currently plush toys, Mighty Raju are moving good but it will take time to get in the prime flow.”
Green Gold Store offers a wide array of merchandise and products for kids between 3 and 8 years of age and are now focused on Chhota Bheem, Mighty Raju, Arjun characters. They have recently launched new collection in their merchandise line like Chhota Bheem and gang plush toys, foam bullet guns, R Blocks, shampoo, deos, floor mats, swim wear, cushions, cars, cricket set, golf set, wall decor and many more things. They also have Chhota Bheem and Mighty Raju’s comic and activity book which garners a decent response.
Talking about future plans, Sudeesh said that by mid next year they plan to open about 20 to 25 stores in the country as their main focus is India. As for the merchandising line, it is a non stop process and new products will be coming in market. In the licensing front they have a huge base and are looking at introducing exciting products.
