Gotham’s Dark Knight unleashes his rage upon Superman in Zack Synder’s ‘Dawn of Justice’ theatrical trailer

DC-Batman-Superman

Fans at the San Diego Comic-Con couldn’t have asked for more from Warner Bros/DC’s panel when Zack Synder who made a show stopping entrance in the Bat-mobile at the Convention to release the first full theatrical trailer of the much-awaited superhero flick, Batman v Superman – Dawn of Justice.

Dawn of Justice is the direct sequel to Synder’s Man of Steel (2013), the Superman reboot; however this upcoming tent-pole would be the debut of Ben Affleck’s Batman in the DCCU, also a standalone Batman movie has officially been announced sometime after the Justice League movie.

The high-point of Dawn of Justice is the unfriendly confrontation between Gotham’s Caped Crusader and the Kryptonian. Although paying homage to Frank Miller’s ‘The Dark Knight’, Zack cleared that the Dawn of Justice is not the comic-book story and stated at the Comic Con that, “The idea of Batman fighting Superman is a thing that happens all the time in comic books.”

The second trailer confirms that all is not well for Superman as his devastating battle in Metropolis with General Zod didn’t go well with the grounded-folks in power. We also get a glimpse of Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne losing a lot of life and property in that CGI-climatic slugfest, Synder so-very well choreographed on-screen in Man of Steel.

While the world condemns DC’s greatest superhero, Batman decides to take things into his own hands challenging Superman and the trailer confirms that Synder yet again to the best of his visual effects’ capabilities is bringing on an awe-inspiring, property-devastating epic-duel on the big screen.

Ben Affleck’s Batman is though beefed up and older, yet manages to pull-off some gripping-fast fights. His rustic suit of armour – what we thought wouldn’t last a minute against Superman – too kicks the Kryptonian’s butt as we see in this trailer. Although we still miss Ben Affleck uttering those iconic words, “I’m Batman’, this trailer surely belongs to the Dark Knight.

Here’s a sneak-peak into the newly constructed DC Cinematic Universe as Batman unleashes his rage upon the alien superhero.

The trailer teases us with all of the characters of Man of Steel as we see Henry Cavill’s Superman struggling for his acceptance as a savior. Diane Lane returns as Martha Kent, Amy Adams as Superman’s love interest Lois Lane and Lawrence Fishbone as the Daily Planet editor, Perry White. Characters from the Batman too are notably teased especially a graphic message from the Joker hints at his existence. We also get the first look at Jeremy Irons as Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred.

The three minute teaser also dropped a few more hints at the plot giving us the first action-packed look at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, although we have no idea whose side is she on yet. Jesse Eisenberg manages to pull off a sinister aura as he brings Lex Luthor to the DC table. Also did we just see Michael Shannon’s Zod in a body bag, for rumors are around that he might be the seed to Superman’s archenemy Brainiac?

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theatres on 25 March 2016 followed by a line-up of DC movies including Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Aqua Man and Justice League tent-poles.
