When every tech giant is upgrading its expertise on AR, how could Google step aside? Google has re-branded augmented reality stickers officially changing to Playground as announced during the Pixel 3 event.
From re-enacting scenes in Star Wars: The Last Jedi to hanging out with Eleven from Stranger Things, AR Stickers are already popular. This time Google introduced Playground, AR stickers for a new mode in the Pixel camera which helps to create and play with the world around us.
According to the Google official blogpost, the stickers help you bring more of your imagination to a scene with cameos from your favourite superheroes, stickers that animate around you and fun captions that put words where the action is.
With Playground, photos and videos will get an added element of life with playmoji where characters react to each other and to the main subject. The new playmoji packs have various options to pick from a selection of cartoony pets, visual and interactive signs, comic strip-style sports animations, and anthropomorphic weather effects.
Playground also makes real-time suggestions to recommend content based on the scene, the subject is in. For example, walking with dog, cooking at the kitchen, gardening at the backyard, and more. Playground uses advanced computer vision and machine learning to recommend relevant playmoji, stickers and captions to populate the scene.
It also works in selfie mode and Google has also simplified the sharing procedure with one tap. Apart from that, Google also added Marvel-themed AR stickers to celebrate Marvel’s Cinematic Universe’s 10-year anniversary.
