The Golmaal gang is gearing up to return to the big screen, with Golmaal 5 set to arrive in cinemas on 8 January 2027.
The release date was announced by the filmmaker Rohit Shetty on his Instagram, who promised to kick off 2027 with fun, laughter and a whole lot of Golmaal.
The fifth instalment of the popular comedy franchise will continue the Golmaal legacy of friendship, confusion, comic mayhem and larger-than-life situations. Details about the film’s story and plot are being kept under wraps for now, but the January release gives audiences an early dose of bollywood comedy to start the new year.
The Golmaal franchise, created by filmmaker Shetty, began with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006 and has since grown into one of Hindi cinema’s best-known comedy series. The franchise continued with Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010) and Golmaal Again (2017), with each comeback leaning into the series’ trademark mix of slapstick, mistaken identities, eccentric characters and family-friendly humour.
The fourth film, Golmaal Again, pushed the formula into supernatural territory, blending comedy with ghosts and horror while bringing back the familiar gang. It also became one of the major commercial successes of 2017.
