Giancarlo Esposito, has lately expressed his desire to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Esposito who played Gus Fring in the highly acclaimed meth-drama, Breaking Bad, has received critical acclaim for his performances till date and also worked on Disney+ Original, The Mandalorian.
MCU would have moved into Phase Four by now with Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, if the pandemic didn’t happen. The upcoming movie slate from the entertainment company is expected to introduce various new characters as most old ones have seen an end. Hence, many actors have wished to be a part of the MCU given its humongous fan following and larger-than-life-characters and films.
In a recent interview with a news portal, Esposito talked about his dream venture that he would like to take up next. There, the actor mentioned that he wants to work with Marvel Studios as what they do is “fantastic,” and he would love to play some amazing characters who he thinks really did change the world with their actions.
Esposito has worked with Marvel executive producer Louis D’Esposito and has reportedly discussed with him about joining the MCU a number of times. He portrayed Moff Gideon, a former Imperial Security Bureau officer in The Mandalorian. He was also seen briefly in the last episode, Chapter 8: Redemption, which was helmed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi. The series is written and created by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, who also plays Happy Hogan in the MCU. Esposito received appreciation for his performance and is likely to reprise his role in the upcoming sequel of the show.
