A new animated series from – Ireland based – animation company Geronimo Productions has secured TV rights across several channels. Nelly and Nora will have its world premiere on RTEjr on 2 February.
Targetted at kids, Nelly and Nora follows the adventures of two sisters who spend holidays and weekends at the family mobile home in a camping park near the sea. The inspiration for the show came from producer Gerard O’Rourke’s family holiday and is based on Ireland’s obsession as a nation with the weather.
Rights for the UK telecast have been picked up with BBC for its channel CBeebies and will be shown in May. BBC will also be taking the show to its other international territories. The show has been developed by Emma Hogan and directed by Jamie Teehan.
