Forget bullets this time, Gears of War: E-Day is firing up the oven. Xbox has joined forces with Prince St. Pizza, a famous, award-winning pizzeria founded in 2012 in the NoHo/SoHo neighborhood of New York City, to serve fans the Emergence Pie, a fiery limited-edition slice inspired by the game’s infamous Emergence Day (E-Day).
Available at Prince St. Pizza locations across the US and Toronto, Canada until 1 November, the collaboration brings together two things that have no business being this compatible: brutal battles and seriously loaded pizza.
The Emergence Pie comes armed with spicy vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, ground pepperoni and sausage, before getting a final hit of Carbone Fine Food’s Aglio e Peperoncino Italian Chili Crisp. In other words, this is one pie that knows how to bring the heat.
And there’s loot for the hungry. Every purchase of an Emergence Pie or slice comes with a unique code that unlocks a Gears of War: E-Day in-game pizza emblem. Because apparently, pizza is now part of the arsenal.
The crossover also takes aim at the kitchen counter with a limited-edition pizza cutter inspired by the Prototype Lancer from the game. The weapon-inspired cutter is available to buy through Prince St. Pizza’s online shop.
Prince St. Pizza CEO Lawrence Longo shared, “Gears fans and pizza lovers have been the same crowd for a long time. Working with Xbox gave us a way to build for that overlap instead of putting two names on a box and calling it a day. The pie, the emblem, the cutter, all of it started with what the fans would actually want.”
Gears of War: E-Day launches on 6 October for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. Until then, fans can sharpen their appetite, load up on toppings and prepare for an Emergence Day where the biggest battle might just be over the last slice.
