Gaumont Animation is continuing to grow its Animation and Family efforts in the U.S. and has very recently appointed industry veteran Michelle Sullivan as the LA Animation VP. The announcement was made yesterday, 2 July by Gaumont Animation and Family president Nicolas Atlan.
Gaumont, the world’s first film company is currently producing the forthcoming animated series Do, Re & Mi, starring Kristen Bell (Frozen) and Jackie Tohn (GLOW) for Amazon Prime Video, and High in the Clouds, an animated feature developed with Paul McCartney for Netflix.
Prior to this role, Sullivan served as a development executive for Amazon Studios where she was instrumental in developing and supervising the production of Amazon Kids Originals scripted animated children’s series including Do, Re & Mi, Jessy and Nessy, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Wishenpoof, Click Clack Moo, Creative Galaxy and Emmy-nominated Bookaboo.
Sullivan will officially join Gaumont in August as creative executive VP, based in the company’s Los Angeles offices. In her new role, she’ll report to Animation and Family creative development SVP Terry Kalagian. Sullivan will be working alongside creative development VP Kimberly Dennison, sourcing projects to be developed into animated and live-action series in the Animation and Family space.
“I am so excited to have Sullivan joining our team. Her creative vision is aligned with Gaumont’s and the energy and expertise she brings to the group will further inspire us in our ongoing quest to develop meaningful stories and compelling characters,” commented Kalagian on the appointment.
Before her stint with Amazon Prime Video, Sullivan led National Geographic’s kids and family digital initiatives including NG Kids TV, its multi-platform video channel, in addition to having held positions with a focus on kids and teens at both AOL and MXG.
