Frozen’s ‘Let it go’ bags a Grammy for ‘Best Song Written For Visual Media’

The ‘Frozen’ team has more reason to celebrate, after recently unveiling plans of a short around the popular characters of the feature film in ‘Frozen Fever’.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, Tom MacDougall & Chris Montan have won the 2015 Grammy Award for ‘Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media’ for Frozen’s soundtrack from Walt Disney Records.

Other nominees in the category included: The Lego Movie’s ‘Everything Is Awesome!!!’, The Hobbit’s ‘I See Fire’, performed by Ed Sheeran, ‘I’m Not Gonna Miss You’, co-penned by Glen Campbell and Julian Raymond and ‘The Moon Song’ from Her, Spike Jonze and Karen O, songwriters.

Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez are the Oscar-winning married songwriting team behind the sensational Disney animated film, Frozen. Lopez and Anderson-Lopez have written for television, film and stage, including the stage version of Finding Nemo, songs for The Wonder Pets (two Emmy award wins) and the Winnie the Pooh animated film.

The husband and wife songwriting duo are currently in development on their next project – a musical titled ‘Up Here’, with Rocky’s Alex Timbers on board to helm the project. The production is scheduled to make its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in California during the theater’s 2015-16 season.
