Three days. Countless fandoms. One massive celebration.

The opening day set the tone with an eclectic mix of entertainment and interactive programming. Fans participated in the Otaku quiz and The Last Verdict anime gameshow, while voice-acting sessions featuring voices associated with popular anime including Spy x Family, Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer gave audiences an opportunity to get closer to the craft behind some of their favourite characters.

The day also featured Action Kamen, the Ramen Quiz Competition powered by Wok Tok, Gunpla: More Than Models, manga, manhwa and comic book launches, and a Closet Cosplay segment, ensuring that there was something for every corner of the fandom.

Day two kept the momentum going with an equally packed schedule. From The Great BL Debate and meet-and-greets to gaming activities and quiz competitions, the day brought fans together through a mix of entertainment, conversations and interactive experiences.

The Sakamoto Days producer session, creator engagements, XP-Pen and Wacom activities, a Japanese song learning session and an Asca meet-and-greet added further variety to the programme. Fans also got the chance to participate in the Naruto fan session with Date-san, witness a Zee trailer launch and compete in the gaming cosplay competition.

From fans to creators, India’s anime culture is evolving

The scale of Anime India Mumbai 2026 reflects a larger shift taking place within India’s anime community.

Anime fandom is no longer limited to watching shows. It has evolved into a highly participatory culture where fans cosplay, create fan art, collect merchandise, play games, attend screenings, learn Japanese music, engage with creators and build communities around the stories they love. That evolution was visible throughout the three days at Nesco.

Cosplayers brought beloved characters to life. Artists and creators showcased their work. Gamers competed and connected. Fans gathered around manga and anime conversations. Japanese music became a shared experience. And across the venue, thousands of people found common ground through stories and characters that have travelled across borders and generations.

For AnimationXpress, Anime India Mumbai 2026 also represents a larger commitment to creating platforms that connect the animation, gaming, entertainment and pop-culture ecosystems, while opening new opportunities for creators, brands and industry stakeholders.

Mumbai may have brought this chapter to a spectacular close, but the Anime India journey is far from over. Following successful editions across Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, Anime India is now heading to Hyderabad on 14 and 15 November 2026.

The next edition promises another opportunity for fans to experience anime, Japanese pop culture and fandom up close, bringing the celebration to a new city and an even wider audience. With more than 45,000 fans becoming part of Anime India Mumbai 2026, the message from Mumbai was unmistakable: India’s anime community is growing, becoming more diverse and increasingly connected to the global anime ecosystem.
