First photos from Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ reveal much-anticipated look at Will Smith’s Genie

Around 10 weeks after Disney dropped a contentious yet lip-smacking teaser of its upcoming magical adventure Aladdin, we finally have the first look at Will Smith’s much talked-about character Genie. And unlike what we’ve witnessed in animated series, this one’s not blue in appearance, something that has left a section of the fans irked.

Yet, the stills released have enough substance to make us really look forward to Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of the classic Arabian Nights feature.

Jasmine, Aladdin’s immaculate heart in the animated saga, was another major character that who wasn’t revealed in the half-a-minute clip. But here, we see Naomi Scott radiating in her Princess Jamine avatar across various stills. Not to mention the primary antagonist Abdul Jafar, played by the kohl-laden Marwan Kenzari.

So even if Genie’s first look hasn’t really impressed many, the first-look images does promise the movie to be “aesthetically pleasing”. Check them out below:
