The American broadcast television network, The CW has been raising the stakes gradually for the comic superhero genre at the small-screen television space. With DC Comics’ Arrow moving into its fourth successful season from this October together with the spin-off The Flash speeding back for its second stint, CW is releasing more and more information for us to handle.
Feeding the latest tidbit to fans on the CW’s recent spin-off, Legends of Tomorrow, are the costumed pictures of Hawk Girl and Hawk Man.
Here’s a look at the new members of DC Comics’ adapted in the small-screen live-action space.
Derived powers from the ancient Egyptian hawk god, Horus, Kendra and Carter, Ciara Renée as Kendra Saunders a.k.a Hawk Girl and Falk Hentschel as her soulmate Carter Hall a.k.a Hawk Man will play the DC comic characters destined to reincarnate through time as winged, helmeted warriors.
Earlier this year, the network released a standalone teaser of the band of small-screen superheroes with Brandan Routh as ATOM, Caity Lotz as White Canary, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave and Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold. As per reports Hawk Girl and Hawk Man after debuting in a grand Arrow/The Flash crossover event sometime soon, would feature as regulars in CW’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Although the production of Legends of Tomorrow has kick-started, the series’ plot has been kept under wraps apart from revealing the series’ super-villain Vandal Savage. Savage, a fictional DC comic character is an immortal who is known to plague the world with crime and violence with his brilliant tactical and technological prowess. The teaser sure showed off some great VFX and production value supporting the bandwagon of superheroes.
