Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, an Indian biography-historical movie based on Jhansi ki Rani Laxmi Bai will hit the theatre on 25 January 2019 just before the Republic Day. Kangna Ranaut will be seen in the lead role as Jhansi Rani Laxmi Bai along with Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope, Jisshu Sengupta as Gangadhar Rao, Richard Keep as General Hugh Rose, Suresh Oberoi as Bajirao and others. In an exclusive conversation with AnimationXpress, producer Kamal Jain expressed “it is a super VFX-heavy film and has more than 3000VFX shots out of which 50 per cent are hardcore CG shots.” Having the historical background, the movie to pull back Indian audience in Indian history, where Rani Laxmi Bai fought courageously and sacrificed her life for the countrymen.
Uri: the surgical strike
Uri: the surgical strike is based on the 2016 Indian Army’s surgical strikes on Pakistan as retaliation for the Uri attack to hit the screens on 11 January 2019. The movie stars Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam. It is written and directed by debutant Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Screwala said that the film is “the story of what happened in those eleven days.”
The movie has a lot of VFX from the Yash Raj VFX Studio as it is portraying the Uri attack sequence. Its heart weeping patriotic trailer has touched every Indian movie enthusiasts and thus it will be a good watch around the republic day.
The Accidental Prime Minister
The Accidental Prime Minister is an upcoming 2019 Indian biographical political film, expected to release on 11 January 2019. Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and written by Mayank Tewari. The film stars Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh, the economist and politician who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014 under the United Progressive Alliance. It is based on the book “The Accidental Prime Minister” by Sanjaya Baru who was ex PMs personal media advisor. The movie has extensive use of VFX and CG as per its post-production studio After. The recent launch of the trailer has already made a mark among the Indian citizen.
Thackeray
Thackeray is an upcoming bilingual Bollywood biographical film, made simultaneously in Marathi and Hindi based on the life of Bal Thackeray, the founder of the Indian political party Shiv Sena. The movie has been directed by Abhijit Panse and has been written by Shiv Sena politician Sanjay Raut. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui the role of Bal Thackeray and Amrita Rao plays his wife Meena Tai Thackeray. The film is scheduled for release on 25 January 2019, the 93rd birthday of Bal Thackeray. The movie has a lot of VFX shots of the crowded rallies, public gathering and more done by Prisca studios. The movie trailer has already made a huge impact especially because of the look of Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Bal Thackeray.

For all the horror movie lovers we have Amavas for you. The movie directed by Bhushan Patel has Nargis Fakhri and Sachiin Joshi as its main stars along with Vivan Bhatena, Navneet Kaur Dhillon, Mona Singh and Ali Asgar and it is scheduled to be launch on 11 January 2019.
