One time considered as the most played social media game, the Farmville franchise creator Mark Skaggs resigned from his post at the social game company Zynga. Most recently, he served as Zynga’s SVP of Games, where he oversaw all of the company’s titles, including the recently released strategy game Empires & Allies.
“We are appreciative and thankful for the player-focused passion and creativity Mark has infused in Zynga teams and projects over the years,” said Zynga CEO Mark Pincus in a statement provided to GamesIndustry International.
Zygna has been undertaking some management shake-up activities and both Lincoln Brown and Joe Kaminkow have been promoted to senior VP of games. They will look after Zynga’s social casino games and have previously worked with Spooky Cool Labs, the developer behind the Wizard of Oz slots games. Casino games are a focus for the newly trim Zynga. The company has also hired former Hasbro HR executive Laura Revenko as its new chief people officer which will strengthen Zynga’s university recruiting and learning development functions. Also, Electronics Art executive Frank Gibeau has joined as a Board of Director in the company.
Zynga from the recent financial report has posted another loss, this comes months after the company cut 350 jobs worldwide. The company is currently struggling with its new games and is not doing too well, leading to lot of criticism and forcing people to believe that the once pioneer in promoting socially addictive games, has lost its mojo in transitioning from social gaming to mobile.
