Seth MacFarlane’s animated series The Family Guy just recreated Bill Cosby 80’s sitcom’s opening credits.
The animated series in its sixth episode Peter’s Sister re-enacted the opening show credits where the announced reveals, “what we know now.” Bill Cosby in his trademark dirty jacket and dance goes on to introduce his TV family with the guest appearances from Bonnie Franklin and Golden Girl actress Bea Arthur sans pants and even the NBC peacock which looks disappointed.
Peter’s estranged sister, Karen is coming for Thanksgiving dinner and while waiting for Karen, the family decides to watch some TV. That’s when the revamped opening airs on the Griffins’ television.
The show creators have clearly hit out at Cosby who has been charged on the counts of sexual assault, drugging and/or rape by more than 50 women.
Family Guy has picked on celebrities before and has attracted controversies with the likes of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, Domestic violence remarks, terrorism and airing anti-religious sentiments. With this joke, will the television series attract more eyeballs or will it land in a soup.
