Exploding Kittens the tabletop game which has the title of most backed and funded game in the history of crowfunding website is all set to set the iOS screens on fire courtesy Seattle-based Substantial.
Set to launch on 21 January, the game will be priced at $2 on iTunes. It will be collaboration between Substantial and one of the original creator’s of the tabletop The Oatmeal’s Mattew Inman. The game not only wants to replicate the original game, but evolve and improve it for old and new fans alike.
Like the original tabletop card game, here too players draw the card until one player picks up a card which has an exploding kitten and loses the game. But that exploding kitten can be defused if that player has a Defuse card. Defuse cards like laser pointers, belly rubs, and sandwiches comprised of catnip to add to the fun.
Originally conceived by former Xbox chief design officer Elan Lee and former Xbox Entertainment principle art director Shane Small, alongside Inman, Exploding Kittens was an instant hit on Kickstarter following the launch of its campaign a year ago, hitting its initial funding target of $10k in just 20 minutes.
