With only two days to go for one of the most awaited gaming events to take place in the country, PGConnects Bangalore boasts of heavyweights from the industry coming in as speakers sharing their experiences and the learnings that they’ve had over the years.
The sessions have been divided into different tracks : Acquire and Monetise, East meets West, Indie Academy and Make in India.
Acquire and Monetise offers monetisation techniques where industry gurus and bigwigs from the ad networks will be explaining how to monetise big time through mobile games. Some of the sessions from the track include: What the top 50 games do with in-app purchasing that the rest of us don’t conducted by Mike Hines from Amazon, Multiplayer gameplay drives super-scalable acquisition, engagement & retention by Nikhil Soman of Playblazer, Effective means to increasing monetisation and user ltv of non-paying players by Shai Sasson from Woobi, Sergio Salvador from Google – Global Head will hold a session on How to use IAPs in games and panel discussions on ad-networks and ad-formats and monetisation experts.
East meets West has some of the biggest names from both the parts of the world with Peter Vesterbacka from Rovio giving a glimpse into the Rovio world, Cut the Rope series company Zeptolab CEO Misha Lyalin will be presenting on how the company became a global publisher from an Indie studio. There will also be focus on the markets in the neighbouring countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh and also markets spread out in Europe and the US.
Indie Academy starts off with a keynote by Mike Bithell from the Mike Bithell Studios who was behind the successful indie puzzler Thomas Was Alone followed by Armin Hummel from Lima Sky of Doodle Jump fame talking about the inner workings of casual sensation. Bossa Studios – Marina Mello will present the Funtastic approach of its game development. Back home Shailesh Prabhu from Yellow Monkey Studios will showcasing making of Socioball from its studio. Mohit Rangaraju from Mech Mocha Studios will take keynote on how to build free to play game and many more.
With Make in India being the flavour of the season, Reliance Entertainment CEO Manish Agarwal will introduce the track of the same name; followed by a panel which will discussing how to get a gaming company fundded – the panel includes names like Anuj Tandon (Rolocule), Vaibhav Gupta (Octro Inc.), Samir Bangara (Qyuki Digital Media) and Brij Bhasin (Rebright Investment Partners). Another panel discussion will have Rajesh Rao (Dhruva Interactive) along with Rohit Goyal (PaxPlay), Anupam Dhanuka (PaperBoats Apps) and Roby John (June Software) discussing about India’s indie superstars and the road to glory and many more sessions centred around the Indian gaming ecosystem.
And finally, along with all the serious sessions and keynotes, the conference also has the I Love Indie Showcase at an exclusive expo area within the conference, dedicated to indie developers and their games and The Very Big Indie Pitch where in the game developers will be given 4 minutes to pitch in their games and the winner will win Rs 1 million along with the chance to influence leading media houses and potential publisher partners.
