Kerala-based virtual reality and animation studio, Evogue Studios has launched its first gear VR game – Metal Fury. It is a racing game set in a futuristic environment of the virtual world. Gamers race through a hovering metal ship, dodging obstacles that attack them from all directions. Quick reactions, avoidance, and destruction skills win power-ups and speed boosters to help reach the end and unlock the next level.
“Metal Fury is our first venture into virtual reality gaming, and we wanted to reach a wide audience, which is why it’s targeted at gamers who love racing, shooting, and arcade games,” said Evogue Studios, founder and managing partner, Anoob Chandran. “We wanted to produce a racing game in a futuristic environment for that next level gaming experience,” Anoob added, “so we came up with the idea of a glowing tunnel with different obstacles which is fast-paced yet has greatly reduced the motion sickness problems associated with VR games.”
Designed by a team of five at Evogue, Metal Fury took four months, from initial concept to release. The game is sold through Oculus, the digital entertainment developers, for $ 1.99, and promises a unique VR gaming experience for gamers aged 13 and above.
