Behaviour Interactive has announced the release of Home: Boov Pop, a puzzle game based on the DreamWorks Animation film, Home, which is set to hit theaters on 27 March. In Home: Boov Pop, players help Oh, Tip and Captain Smek as they battle intergalactic enemies across multiple puzzle levels.
It is a match-three puzzle game of the line-drawing variety, meaning players tap and drag their finger around the screen to connect matching colored bubbles, lifting their finger to remove groups of three-or-more from the screen. Symbols aren’t required to connect in straight lines; rather, they just need to touch in some fashion.
As players progress, they unlock power-up abilities, such as Oh’s ability to clear all bubbles of a single color from the screen with a single tap. Levels become more complicated as well, with boss battles and enemy symbols blocking some moves until they’re removed from the screen by making matches next to them.
Gamers earn up to three stars on each stage, depending on their high score. These can be compared with friends’ scores via Facebook connectivity, and Game Center integration offers an achievements system.
“Our innovative physics based gameplay is not only unique, it’s also a natural fit with the movie universe. It sets Home: Boov Pop! apart from traditional puzzle games. We’re really excited to get it out there for everyone to enjoy.” said Behaviour Interactive VP of mobile Jimmy Gendron on the game’s design.
Home: Boov Pop is currently available on to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
