DreamWorks Animation has appointed Terry Curtin as its head of theatrical publicity as per the announcement on Monday. She will be joining DreamWorks from 11 April, 2016.
Terry Curtin will oversee the worldwide publicity efforts for DWA’s feature film slate, including traditional and digital publicity campaigns.
Curtin will replace Robin Chandler, who previously served as head of theatrical publicity, will step down from her role in order to launch an independent consulting practice.
She joins the company from STX Entertainment, the newly formed studio behind the The Gift and Hardcore Henry, where she was head of strategic marketing and global communications.
Curtin is a veteran executive, having done stints at Universal, 20th Century Fox and Disney. She also had senior leadership roles at Revolution Studios, MGM/UA and Relativity Media.
DWA, head of theatrical marketing, Jim Gallagher said of Curtin, “She’s a strategic idea machine, who is equally comfortable down in the weeds or up at 30,000 feet. I’d like to thank Robin for all her incredible efforts, and am grateful to have her in an advisory role going forward as part of her new venture.”
Terry Curtin has also previously worked on the advertising campaigns for a range of films, including Die Hard, A Beautiful Mind, American Gangster and The Mummy.
