More than 100 video game enthusiasts spent their Saturday (21 March) gaming at the DOTA 2 LAN Gaming Tournament organised by Comic Con India, at the League of Extraordinary Gamers. It was for the first time that Comic Con India had organised a gaming tournament in Bangalore. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by the gaming fanatics in the city.
This tournament was organised for setting the stage for Bangalore Comic Con 2015 to be held from 3- 5 April 2015. It was a warm evening for all the gamers at the special gaming arena in partnership with Xtreme gaming at the Bangalore Comic Con, with a total prize pool of Rs 1.5 lakh. The main tournament is around DOTA 2, which will be for teams of gamers. For regular visitors as well as gamers, there will be casual gaming competitions at the Fifa 14 and Counter Strike GO.
There were nearly 40 consoles at the tournament. People participated both individually and even in a team of five. People brought their own computers or compatible gaming consoles between which they established a Local Area Network (LAN) to play multiple video games.
The outing was planned from 10am to 7pm, but because of the presence of a huge crowd at the tournament, it got extended till 3 am in the morning. Prize money of Rs 10000 (first prize), Rs 7000 (second prize) and Rs 5000 (third prize) was up for the grabs at the tournament.
The 1st prize went to Full Meals and Team Leader Stephen Samuel said, “Thanks to Comic Con India for such a spectacular pre comic con gaming event. Feeling awesome to take the 1st place out of 32 teams. My whole team is a fan of Comic Con and you guys share our passion. Looking forward to the main event!”
