Disney Pixar’s Sanjay’s Super Team to be screened at MAMI

Disney Pixar’s much awaited animated short film ‘Sanjay’s Super Team’ will be specially screened at MAMI-17th Jio Mumbai Film Festival this Saturday at 2:00 pm. The movie lovers thus have the classy opportunity to watch the movie in advance as the film will be screened in theatres on 4 December, 2015 just before Disney’s Pixar 3D animation film The Good Dinosaur. So, the Indian audience are privileged to watch the film one month prior to its theatrical release. Well, even the global audience will be able to watch the movie on 25 November, 2015.

Directed by America based Indian animator Sanjay Patel, the 7 minute short film conveys his own story as he comes into conflict with his father’s traditions. The 38 second teaser of the film, revealed on 19 October, 2015, displayed a little boy Sanjay who is glued to the TV watching his superheroes while his father is immersed in the religious prayer or ‘puja’ as it is called according to the Indian tradition. With the sound of the bell clinging in the background as his father starts praying, the boy increases the volume of the TV to avoid his father’s prayers. But, as ‘Daddy is the Boss’ in every house, so his father shuts the TV and calls little Sanjay to sit beside him.

It seems the movie will see Hindu Gods coming in as super heroes and forming a part of Sanjay’s imaginary Super team. Or may be Sanjay will give up the craze of Super heroes and follow his daddy. But will Sanjay continue to watch superheroes?

Having worked on Toy Story 3The Incredibles and Monsters, Inc. Sanjay has added his own concept to the creative animation and fine artwork. This film is his story which is a chronicle of his journey to understand the Hindu world that is so important to his parents.

The wait is just 2 days away! So grab this golden opportunity to appreciate the talent of the young Indian animator and as it is Diney Pixar, definitely the movie will be fascinating!
