A series of job cuts has been made throughout Disney Interactive, specifically the team behind kids games platform Club Penguin.
Multiple sources have reported layoffs across at least three branches of the company, due to low membership numbers and poor performance from the once popular property.
The reports suggest around 30 people were laid off from the original team in Kelowna, Canada, and even more in Los Angeles. It also claims the entire Club Penguin office in Brighton, England was shut down completely.
Disney has only released the following statement: “Disney Interactive continually looks to find ways to create efficiencies and streamline our operations. As part of this ongoing process, we are consolidating a small number of teams and are undergoing a targeted reduction in workforce.”
