Disney/ABC Television Group is continuing its expansion into the Spanish-language digital market and is set further consolidate it this summer with the release of an interactive special in that language on the Disney Junior Appisode app.
The launch will be a Spanish episode of Sofia the First available on the app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The service allows 2- to 7-year-olds to tap, swipe, touch, tilt, shake and talk their way through various activities embedded in the episode. The app is free on iTunes with a download of ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Road Rally’.
That release comes on the heels of the recently launched Disney Junior en Espańol, an entire programming block in Spanish for the WATCH Disney Junior app. That initiative includes Spanish-language versions of popular shows such as Doc McStuffins, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Sofia the First.
An extension for Android and Kindle Fire called Disney Junior Color! en Espańol lets tykes draw, paint and colour pages from their favourite series. The WATCH app is available on several devices, including desktops, iPhones, iPads, iPod touch, select Android devices and Amazon Kindle Fire, among others.
