Online video streaming is the new big thing and with the pandemic, the sector has witnessed exponential growth in 2020. The competition has toughened and the players have upped their games to stay ahead of others. The new contender Disney+, with its vast library of popular entertaining content, understanding of markets and brand loyalty has been a favourite since day one.

Disney+ owns a portfolio stuffed with varied content from the world’s most popular content makers – Disney Studios, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic. Adding to it is the consumer loyalty, enhanced interface and user friendly streaming.

It also offers 4K, HDR and Dolby Atmos audio on many films and TV shows, meaning that A/V enthusiasts will find plenty to get on with. For many, the idea of watching MCU blockbusters or the original Star Wars movies in 4K will be reason enough to subscribe.

Lastly,  Disney+ also comes with a user friendly price point. Presently, its subscription costs much less than that of its contemporaries – $6.99 per month. And in India its premium plan costs Rs. 1499/year. Recently, Reliance owned telco, Jio has offered a complimentary subscription plan of Disney+Hotstar VIP plan (rs. 399/year) at Rs. 401 recharge plan for its prepaid customers, followed by Airtel.

For all this and more, Disney+ has been rewarded with the Best Video Streaming Service Award in the T3 Awards 2020.
