The Walt Disney Company has named Cindy Davis, a former Wal-Mart executive and John Frelinghuysen, a former AOL leader to senior posts. Cindy Davis, who now earlier led Wal-Mart’s customer analytics efforts, will join the Disney-ABC Television Group as executive vice president for consumer experience.
She will be accountable for the consumer wants and needs, improving research, including ratings, across Disney’s television networks other than ESPN (ABC, Disney Channel, Disney XD, ABC Family).Disney also has John Frelinghuysen as executive vice president for digital media, strategy and business development. He shall now fit in the shoes of Albert Cheng who took a job at Amazon after leading the Disney-ABC Television Group’s digital efforts for a decade. Disney informed that Frelinghuysen would be charged with “defining and executing plans to effectively monetize both new and existing short-form and long-form content and distribution.”
Frelinghuysen, who was an AOL senior vice president in charge of strategy, said in a statement that he saw the opportunity for creating new content experiences and driving revenue growth in digital video. Both new executives will report to Ben Sherwood, president of the Disney-ABC Television Group.
