Joining the digital era with an aim to produce engaging stories, former Star Plus senior marketing manager Dinesh Pitre founded Dumroo Media, a boutique content creation company that has interests in producing movies, web shows and digital media content.
The company has recently made its foray into acquisition and is looking aggressively at acquiring content from movies, sports, short films, animation, lifestyle, web exclusive, etc. in all Indian languages.
Speaking about his venture Pitre says, “Dumroo may be a new kid on the block but we have a solid proposition for all the content that is out there in the market whether unreleased or published under a non- exclusive category. The market for content is growing and Dumroo is poised to bring a solid additional revenue to all the content creators.”
He also adds, “I am deeply passionate about storytelling. I believe in the power of stories and I feel that each society or culture identifies itself by its history, its literature, it’s heroes, virtues and struggles. These are nothing but the stories passed down through generations.”
Pitre is a marketing specialist-turned-producer with a focus on exploiting digital media. Speaking about the future plans he says, “We are collaborating with some amazingly talented writers and have some really exciting projects in the pipeline and we are looking at closing some key deals with leading OTTs this year. We are also acquiring some great content which is exciting.”
Prior to founding Dumroo Media, Pitre was Star Plus senior marketing manager, where he handled the marketing responsibilities for the existing legacy shows such as Ye Hai Mohabbatein and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. He also led marketing campaigns for Sony MAX marketing where helped the channel deliver six strong IPL campaigns.
