DSK Green Ice Games’ Death God University (DGU) is scaling new heights. The studio is heading to Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, between 4 and 6 March.
It’s an adventure puzzler game for PC made in Epic’s Unreal Engine 4 which has caught the fascination of the engine creator. The premise of the game has you playing a student in DGU, who targets and executes people throughout the world of DGU and kills them in outlandish ways making it look like an accident.
This year, Epic short-listed eight games from hundreds that were received from all over the world to demo them at its booth this GDC; with the criteria being the game should be developed on its Unreal Engine. DGU is the only game on the list from an Indian studio. The list boasts of games such as ADR1FT by Three One Zero, a first person space exploration game, Red Goddess by Yanim Studios, a 2.5D Nonlinear Explorational Side-Scroller are also among the few from the eight that made the cut.
The Chibi art style game got greenlit in five days through Stream Greenlight program and is going to be released in spring of 2015. The game is inspired by classic games like Monkey Island, Day of the tentacle, Manic Mansion to name a few.
