Marvel has announced that a 12-part limited series titled Dead Man Logan concludes one of the Wolverine’s most iconic stories. It is written by Ed Brisson and artist Mike Henderson who ensures that the Old Man Logan finally returns to his own timeline to get revenge on Mysterio. In the original Old Man Logan story, Wolverine was tricked by long-time Spider-Man enemy Mysterio into killing 40 of his fellow X-Men. Mysterio, the Master of Illusion, caused him to think he was fighting supervillains. Mysterio’s actions traumatized Logan so much that he abandoned his costumed alter ego and refused to pop his claws until his hand was forced. Now the time has come when Logan delivers the long-overdue punishment for Mysterio’s deeds.
Just like the Logan movie, the series aims to focus on the dying Wolverine who will go on his last adventure. “This is it. This is going to be the big, final Old Man Logan story,” series writer Brisson told Newsarama. “Logan’s dying and still has a lot of unfinished business to attend to. Dead Man Logan will largely be Logan tying up loose ends— loose ends like Mysterio, the man who, in Old Man Logan’s timeline, caused him to kill all of the X-Men. That’s not a box that Logan’s going to leave unchecked.”
Declan Shalvey joins as the cover artist who earlier had written Henderson’s Old Man Logan vs. Deadpool. Brisson claims that the Dead Man Logan is set to feature plenty of immense fights for Logan in what is suppose to be a chaotic and sudden final journey for the Marvel hero.
