CyberPowerPC India takes gaming-grade muscle to classrooms

Gaming PCs are finding a new playing field: education.

CyberPowerPC India is expanding its push into schools, colleges, universities and specialised institutes, arguing that the right classroom setup should start with what students need to create, not simply what fits the procurement list.

The custom gaming PC maker is already working with institutions including Karnavati University, Gandhinagar, and Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, to support high-performance computing requirements across creative and technology-led programmes.

The pitch is simple: build the machine around the course, not the other way around. The company aims to engage with institutions at the technology-planning stage, looking at the learning modules, applications and workloads students will use before recommending hardware. For courses spanning game development, animation, VFX, filmmaking, 3D design and AI, that could mean a mix of GPU-heavy workstations and standard PCs rather than a one-size-fits-all lab.

“High-performance PCs have traditionally been associated with gaming, but the technology has a much broader role to play in education,” said CyberPowerPC India COO Vishal Parekh. “Our role is to understand those requirements and help them make informed decisions about the technology supporting them.”

At Karnavati University, the focus is on programmes that bring creativity, technology and industry-oriented learning together. “At our university, we have always believed that delivering the best learning experience requires us to work with the best partners across every part of the ecosystem,” said Karnavati University Dean Academics Dr Kusum Agarwal. “CyberPowerPC has established itself as a name synonymous with high-performance computing, and we trust their expertise to help us build the kind of technology infrastructure our students and programmes demand.”

Whistling Woods International is taking a similarly hands-on approach. The institute recently associated with CyberPowerPC to launch a game room, bringing high-performance computing into its game-design learning environment. “Technology has always been an important enabler of the creative process,” said Whistling Woods International H.O.D. game design Jaydev Dhakan. “Our association with CyberPowerPC to launch the game room at Whistling Woods International allows us to bring high-performance technology into the learning environment.”

The timing is telling. As creative software, AI tools, game engines and 3D workflows become more demanding, the humble computer lab is having to grow up. A PC that once handled assignments may now be expected to render a scene, train an AI model or build a game world. That is also creating a bigger opportunity for technology providers. CyberPowerPC India says it is looking to work with K-12 institutions, learning-module developers, LMS providers and other learning-solution companies to bring hardware, software and educational requirements under one roof.

The company is also positioning pre- and post-purchase support as part of the proposition. For institutions making long-term infrastructure investments, choosing the wrong configuration can mean an expensive upgrade cycle later.

The broader opportunity is being fuelled by India’s expanding gaming and AVGC ecosystem. Niko Partners’ latest India Player Behaviour and Market Insights report found that female gamers account for 49 per cent of India’s gaming audience, up from 43 per cent in 2023. Non-battle-royale mobile games also accounted for 62.8 per cent of mobile-game revenue, signalling a market that is becoming more diverse in both players and content.

India’s AVGC sector is expected to create nearly 2 million jobs by 2030, adding pressure on educators to prepare students for careers that did not always come with a dedicated computer lab.
