French animation company Cyber Group Studios and US-based Splash Entertainment have joined forces to form CyberSplash Entertainment.
The new Paris-based company will create and produce original animated series and feature films for kids and families worldwide. The news was announced on the first day of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France.
CyberSplash’s debut project will be Family Rocks, a preschool series about the first modern family of the Stone Age. The 78×7’ digital cut-out show is a co-production with Israel’s Ananey Studios, part of Paramount Global and will premiere in 2024. Family Rocks was created and is directed by Gili Dolev (Zack & Quack) and is also written by Dolev and Jacqueline Moody (Bob the Builder).
“We are delighted to join forces with our longtime friend Mike Young and his very talented team at Splash Entertainment to develop fresh, family-friendly content for audiences around the globe,” said Cyber Group Studios chairman and CEO and CyberSplash chairman Pierre Sissmann.
“Film and animation production is a flourishing international business. We are delighted that the exciting new CyberSplash partnership with Pierre, Dominique [Bourse, Chief Operating Officer], Karen [Miller, President & CEO U.S.] and the highly-successful Cyber Group team will provide clients and audiences with shows that are creative and entertaining for worldwide audiences,” added Splash Entertainment founder and chairman Mike Young.
Cyber Group, the Paris company behind preschool series Gigantosaurus, and LA-based Splash (Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch) will continue to work independently as well.
