CW promises a superhero bonanza with Arrow/Flash spin off DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

CW may have lost out on airing the Kryptonian TV Show Super Girl (now with CBS Entertainment) but the broadcasting network together with DC Comics is leaving no stone unturned in milking its hot properties including the likes of the Emerald Archer, Arrow and the Scarlet Speedster, Flash. Both these TV shows have garnered a tremendous response and have notched up the network’s ratings and as they are nearing their finale episodes in their respective seasons, CW has lined up a spin-off called Legends of Tomorrow. Releasing the first official look of Legends of Tomorrow, CW promises a geeky delight which is tenfold crazier and action-packed than what the crossover episodes between Arrow and Flash were.

Here’s the first look unveiling the new team of superheroes, Legends of Tomorrow.

The risky investment with DC Comics’ Arrow back in 2012, starring Stephen Amell as the hooded Archer has set the wheels rolling for The CW with the successful spin-off, The Flash which has the fans going crazy for Grant Gustin as the Happy-go-lucky superhero speedster. CW has been the only broadcasting network that has grown nearly 12 per cent year on year in total viewership. With the first season of The Flash coming to an end, the newly spun out TV show’s season has reportedly been The CW’s most watched season in 7 years with 5.85 million viewers. There is no doubt that CW has finally cleared the smoke of another spin-off that has been humoring the web since the last couple of months.

While DC Comics has plans for unleashing the big leaguers with Warner Bros. in 2017’s Justice League, the small screen space has officially got their own DC team, Legends of Tomorrow.

DC’s Legend of Tomorrow so far officially stars the former Superman actor, Brandon Routh aka ATOM (Arrow) , Victor Garber  ( The Flash) AKA Firestorm, Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) AKA Rip Hunter, Caity Lotz (Arrow) AKA White Canary, Ciarra Renee (Pippin) AKA Hawk Girl , Franz Drameh ( Edge of Tomorrow) as Jay Jackson with Dominic Purcell (The Flash, Prison Break) reprising his baddie Heat Wave costume along with and Wentworth Miller ( The Flash, Prison Break) as Captain Cold.

Spelling out the official synopsis, the four minute teaser explains that the Archer and Speedster are in dire need of a team to save the world. Introducing a new DC character the rogue Time-Traveller, Rip Hunter, who having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable and immortal threat, Vandal Savage. Apart from realigning characters from Arrow and The Flash, CW’s Legends of Tomorrow will be introducing newer characters from the DC Comic universe including the ancient warrior with wings, Hawk Girl and even Jay Jackson who would be an asset to the S.T.A.R  labs’ crew.

The first look promises an adrenaline pumped action-saga with expensive visuals and well-choreographed fight sequences. The Prison Break brothers as Captain Cold and Heat Wave too will have a meaty role in the TV Show. Also to fan’s delight, Caity Lotz is resurrected as the White Canary post her fatal encounter in the third season of Arrow, courtesy the Lazarus Pit. Also some signals point out to DC’s famous time-travelling fiction with the Reverse Flash being involved and finally the end sequence drops a peak at ATOM’s most anticipated power of shrinking to atomic sizes as fans were eagerly waiting for Brandon Routh’s Iron Manish suit to notch up to some real ATOM like powers as played out in the comic strips. The epic clash between Marvel and DC just got tinnier with Marvel’s Ant Man brushing against Brandon’s charming ATOM.

With no concrete announcement yet from CW, fans could expect, Legends of Tomorrow to premiere sometime early in 2016.
