
Anime fans in India can now flip through a whole new chapter as Crunchyroll manga makes its debut in the country with 250-plus English language titles. The digital manga service brings fan-favourite stories closer to their anime adaptations, giving readers more ways to dive into their beloved worlds.
According to figures shared by Crunchyroll, 81 per cent of Indian anime fans read digital manga at least monthly, while 56 per cent read it weekly. Across 11 markets surveyed, 69 per cent of anime viewers read digital manga monthly or more, with Crunchyroll users 1.4 times more likely than non-users to read it weekly.
Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini announced the expansion at the invite-only anime future forum in New York City, the service is now available in select English-speaking markets, including India. Through the ultimate fan membership, priced at Rs 299 per monthly or Rs 999 annually.
The launch line-up features titles from publishers J-Novel Club, Square Enix and Yen Press. Fans can dive into The Apothecary Diaries, My Dress-Up Darling, Bocchi the Rock! and Bungo Stray Dogs, among others. More titles, including action favourites from Viz Media, are set to join the library soon.
Crunchyroll chief content officer Asa Suehira shared, “For years, fans have asked us to bring manga closer to their Crunchyroll experience, and we are excited to make that a reality for more fans around the world. Expanding into new territories and languages is an important step toward making Crunchyroll an even more complete home for anime fans everywhere.”
Since launching in the US and Canada in October 2025, Crunchyroll manga has grown its library to more than 450 titles, with publishing partners including AlphaPolis, Compass (Combat Providence Analysis System), Kodansha, Shueisha, Titan Manga, Viz Media and more.
