Founded in 2009 under the name of Mojang Specifications by Markus Persson, Mojang is a well known name, which was later acquired by Microsoft in 2014 leading to parting away of the three founders from the company. Mojang is mostly credited to their immensely popular game Minecraft and now they have released yet another game.
The company’s last release was Cobalt in February. And now, the company has launched a free-to-play game named Crown & Council. The game has reportedly been developed from scratch by Mojang employee, Henrik Pettersson.
The much favoured sandbox game, Minecraft allowed players to construct objects with textured blocks that led the game acclaim critical praises and managed to bag numerous awards. Whereas Crown & Council is in no way similar to Minecraft except for the publishers. It is a geopolitical, fast paced, strategy game where the player’s objective is to knock out competitors. Unlike Minecraft, Crown & Council is modelled in 2D structure and focuses on building armies and defeating ‘rival monarchs’ and conquer their kingdoms.
The game is available on Steam for absolutely no cost. Albeit, there have been mixed reactions from the players about the game, some reported unexpected and random end results of the game and even bugged at times. But, we have to keep in mind that the game has been created single handedly by one developer. Usually most newly released games are bug ridden, which are fixed eventually as the game advances and it is further polished with the feedback from the community.
So, we’ll have to wait and watch for more, till then, check out the launch trailer of the game here:
