Comic Con India plans to celebrate all things Pop Culture, with its biggest pop culture event of the year- Mumbai Film and Comic Con. The convention will take place at Bombay Exhibition Centre from 19 to 21 December 2014 between 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Mumbai Film and Comic Con 2014 will be Featuring content from leading international pop culture brands in Gaming, TV shows and Movies. It will be hosting one of its kinds, interactive and experiential over 50 hours of programming through panels, launches, gaming, video hangouts and more.
“Mumbai has always set benchmarks for all our shows and last year was amazing! Building upon that we are bringing over an even bigger show with a 50,000 sq feet show floor, over a 100 exhibitors, a super guest line up and tons more,” said Comic con, Founder Jatin Varma.
Famous international personalities like Nick Spencer, a New York Times-bestselling comics writer, best known for his creator-owned hits Morning Glories, Bedlam, and The Infinite Vacation, as well as his work at Marvel and DC Comics; Nicolas Wild, a wandering French writer and illustrator who also the author of the critically acclaimed titles, Kabul Disco, Kabul Disco: How I Wasn’t Kidnapped in Afghanistan, Kabul Disco: How I Did Not Become an Opium Addict in Afghanistan and Dan Goldman, a writer for graphic novels and video games. Along with this he has been profiled by The New York Times, Publisher’s Weekly, BBC Radio, The Village Voice and Advertising Age.
This festival will be a ticketed event now onwards, to further expand the scope and size of the event. Tickets will be available online via Book My Show as well as at the Venue. Only a limited number of VIP tickets will be issued. The tickets would be priced at Rs. 150 – Online and Rs. 200 – At the Venue on Friday; Rs. 250 – Online and Rs. 300 – At the Venue on Saturday and Sunday; and Rs. 500 for the Super Fan VIP Ticket for all 3 days. Super Fan ticket offer is available in limited numbers and can be booked online only; these will not be available at the venue.
Cosplay (Costume Contest), one of the major attractions at Comic Con India, will continue to give assured prizes to everyone in costume. One lucky winner out of the chosen 5 will get an awesome chance to win a trip to Oz Comic Con, Sydney in 2015.
For the sheer love for Comics, more than 10 new titles will be launched at the convention. At the convention, there will be some Awesome Anime & Manga Merch from Japanese Merchandiser IINE Toys, along with the best and most exclusive International merchandise at the convention from across the globe. International publishers and merchandisers such as Marvel Comics and KidRobot Toys will be available exclusively at the Comic Con India Store.
