Post house Blue 2.0 has hired former British Film Commissioner and Cinesite boss Colin Brown as its vice chairman. Former Prime Focus UK Broadcast VFX honcho Parvinder Bhatia had taken over Prime Focus’ UK broadcast post production business under new post production banner Blue 2.0 in March.
As the former CEO of Cinesite Global and general manager at Lucas Animation, Brown brings significant senior level management experience with leading media companies across the UK, Europe, USA and Asia, said Blue 2.0 MD Parvinder Bhatia.
He will be focussed on expanding the business into VFX and internationally with new offices in Canada and India part of the long term plan for Blue 2.0.
Brown said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with all the principals for a considerable number of years. The combination of their experience and vision makes this partnership one from which great things can be expected. It is an undeniable fact, people “make” a company and the management team at Blue 2.0, with its international, financial and business-specific expertise, has all the elements present to make a significant mark in both local and international markets. I look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”
Blue 2.0 MD Parvinder Bhatia added: “Along with our recent appointment of former Fremantlemedia executive Mark Bos as executive director, Colin’s joining blue 2.0, will provide impetus to our growth plans both in the UK and globally, across post production services, vfx, animation, production technology and asset management.”
Blue 2.0 chairman and ceo Atul Setia added: “As the business expands and develops we plan to add further senior creative and business members to the Blue 2.0 brand. Colin and Mark’s appointments are part of a long-term strategy and vision for the company to become a global leader.”
