MTV movie Awards witnessed Warner Bros. new Suicide Squad trailer which was presented by MTV Generation Award recipient Will Smith, with fellow “Suicide Squad” stars Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne.
This is the third trailer since the first one made its debut at SDCC and it sure is quick and punchy. Unlike the first trailer which had a serious, dark tone to it, the last two are more on the lighter side showcasing the Suicide Squad team prominently. The second trailer featured Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody that added more flavor to the clip whereas the third one has Ballroom Blitz that also beautiful accompanies this new trailer.
As for the trailer, the 2:23 minutes clip is filled with action and delves deeper into the characters throwing more light on Batman’s character where he’s chasing Joker and later can be seen jumping off a cliff (to save Harley Quinn?). Whereas in another shot we can see a lady falling off in the pool which if connected with the previous trailers looks like the pool from where Joker is bringing out Harley Quinn. With this, we can assume that we will get to witness the back-story of the birth of Harley.
Overall the ‘Blitz’ trailer gives us an idea about the chemistry that lies between the Suicide Squad team and also the military officials. Harley steals the thunder with her crazy dialogues and looks.
As of now, though the film had completed its principle photography rumors swirled that Suicide Squad was undergoing reshoots to punch up the humor. Actor Courtney confirmed the reshoots to Entertainment Tonight, but rebutted the notion that it was to change the tone of the film, “I wouldn’t say we’re going back to make it funnier.”
Suicide Squad is set to hit theatres on 5 August. 2016.
