The first set of images for the most awaited film has come out in the form of merchandises. With this release, fans are made aware of what to expect when the film’s trailer will unveil the first look. Insight Editions, one of Disney’s licensing partners, have released the new collectible Captain Marvel notebooks. The looks of two notebooks are out, and one of which features Brie Larson who plays Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) in the film. She is seen from the waist up with her hair blowing in the wind and her fists are powered up as well. The other book features the logo and emblem which was seen at the end of Avengers: Infinity War with a blue background. It also reads a tagline that differentiates from other Marvel heroes and their stories—Protector of the Skies.
Yet, there has been no official announcement about the unveiling of promotional posters or a teaser perhaps. It’s a good way to offer some glimpses of the film through goodies before the news with cover and trailer breaks out.
The story is an adaptation of a comic book storyline of the Kree-Skrull War plot and will take place in the ’90s. With Captain Marvel, Marvel Studios has once again attempted to go back in time to showcase the origin of a superhero, after doing the same for Captain America: The First Avenger.
“The answer is, you’ll see in the storytelling of the movie,” said producer Kevin Feige.”But it allows us to play in an area that we have never played in before and tapping into a ’90s action genre was fun for us and being able to see an earlier part of the MCU before Nick Fury knew anything about aliens or anything about super-powered people and also tapping into the Kree-Skrull War, which in the comics was a huge part of the comic mythology, seemed like a fun thing to try and a fun way to give Carol Danvers her own standalone origin story.”
From how the merchandise is created, the suit colour of Captain Marvel signals that she would be wearing the usual colours for the film. Now that the merchandises have started hitting the market, it won’t be a long wait for the official looks of Captain Marvel to arrive.
Captain Marvel is slated to release in March 2019 which means just over six months are left and soon the actual trailer will be made available.
