Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 release date and details leaked; additions include Zombie mode

Activision was supposed to make an official release of the gameplay trailer today with more details, but is now on damage control mode after a rogue played spoilsport before the grand unveiling.

A leaked photo from GameStop posted online which was picked up by someone on Reddit, revealed that the game will hit stores on 6 November, making it a Friday launch instead of Tuesday which has usually been the case in the Pacific market.

Also, pre-ordering the game will give access to its Beta, which according to the GameStop photo says will only be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, giving amiss to old-gen consoles. More news from Reddit comes on the part of the gameplay and how different it will be from its predecessors.

The reveal suggests that the main campaign will support co-op play with up to four players helping each other to complete the campaign, instead of usual single player campaigns (Cough Left 4 Dead). Other similarities coming from the multiplayer modes come from being able to modify the weapons, abilities and outfits. Developer Treyarch has open-ended levels in mind along with some arena-style action so that a lot of different strategies can be applied to the same mission.

The multiplayer mode will have a momentum-based chain-movement system. Taking a leaf out Advanced Warfare, Treyarch has made provisions for players to climb, slide and leap across the maps, presumably with the aid of futuristic cybernetics (also which was seen from the teaser trailer previously released).

The first announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 also revealed that the game will have a zombie mode. This mode is supposedly featuring in an all-new story at launch. Plus, the new full XP-based progression system will make players stronger through slaying the undead.

We’ll get a lot of clarity once the trailer is released later today.
