CAKE’s digital arm, Popcorn Digital has been appointed by Ferly as their partner to develop and launch the company’s new content on YouTube. Popcorn Digital will lead Ferly’s digital strategy, creating original animated content based on Ferly’s IP’s as well as launching and managing the company’s channels on YouTube.
Popcorn Digital content director Bruna Capozzoli said, “As we continue to expand our digital offering moving further into content creation, Ferly is a great addition to our roster of channels and we are very much looking forward to collaborating with their talented team on expanding their original IP’s into the digital space.”
Ferly (previously Kaiken Entertainment) and whose team co-created Angry Birds, will work together with Popcorn Digital on Momolu Minis, a new digital series based on the upcoming 2D preschool animation brand Momolu and Friends, about a gentle, unassuming panda, who stumbles into situations requiring his help. Momolu Minis will feature brand new content including early-learning videos, nursery rhymes and seasonal specials for the younger audience.
Ferly’s VP of creative Joonas Rissanen said, “We’re thrilled to be executing our digital strategy with the experienced team at Popcorn Digital and CAKE. Together, we’ve embarked on a journey of exploration to share our great brands with audiences who will hopefully love them and engage with them.”
Popcorn Digital will also support the creation and launch of Ferly’s digital teen series planned for 2019 – Butthole Biscuits, a short-form animated series in which five of the biggest misfits in the biscuit tin struggle to avoid becoming the Butthole Biscuit – a symbol of ultimate failure.
The launch of Momolu Minis on YouTube is planned for later this year.
