Kids’ entertainment specialist, CAKE has announced a deal with Turner’s Boomerang for Mush-Mush and the Mushables, an original creation produced by France’s La Cabane Productions and Belgium’s Thuristar, in co-production with CAKE.
The 52 x 11’ CGI adventure comedy series will air internationally on Boomerang (in addition to Turner Kids channels Cartoon Network, Boing and POGO in select markets) from 2020.
Mush-Mush and the Mushables follows the forest adventures of Mush-Mush, his best friends Chep and Lilit and the rest of the Mushable community, as they explore, grow and discover just how fun and wildlife can be.
Mushables are the ‘Guardians of the Forest’, and each member has a special talent or ability – while Mush-Mush can communicate with nature, Chep has a huge memory and Lilit lights up and glows – all of this in theory at least, as they all still have a lot to learn! Mush-Mush and the Mushables is a journey of self-discovery from a child’s point of view, through exciting adventure, comedy and mush mush more!
Created by Flemish artist Elfriede de Rooster, Mush-Mush and the Mushables is produced by Perrine Gauthier and directed by Joeri Christiaen (My Knight and Me).
CAKE managing director and CCO Ed Galton said, “We are delighted to be teaming up with Turner on the forthcoming Mush-Mush and the Mushables. Perrine, Joeri and their team are bringing to life the original drawings to create an engaging warm-hearted series about a community of loveable mushrooms and their funny adventures that children everywhere will enjoy.”
The deal follows presales to Canal+ and Piwi+ in France, VRT-Ketnet and RTBF-OUFtivi in Belgium, RTS in Switzerland and RTL Telekids in the Netherlands. La Cabane Productions and Thuristar announced the start of production on the series last month.
