London-based kids’ entertainment specialist, CAKE has announced the premiere of its new co-production, Space Chickens in Space on Disney XD EMEA.
Aimed at six to 11 years olds, the 52 x 11 minute surreal animated comedy series will air on Disney XD in the UK and across territories throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa on 19 November at 4.30pm GMT. Israel is excluded from the list and will see the broadcast later on a date which is yet to be announced. The series debuted in Australia on Channel 9 last month.
Space Chickens in Space revolves around a trio of chickens- Finley, Chuck and Starley, who are mistakenly taken from their homes and enrolled in an elite intergalactic former military academy. The series will take the audience on an exciting journey along with the three chicken siblings, who will need all their wits and each other to survive in this extraordinary world full of aliens and tricky homework challenges.
The animated comedy series is created by José C. García de Letona and Rita Street, designed and directed by award-winning Norwegian twins Tommy and Markus Vad Flaaten (TwinTrash). The other noted names on board include- Jordan Gaucher serving as the showrunner, Andrew Davies as series producer, Lindsey Adams as supervising producer and Alan Keane-Shane Perez of Hot Drop Films (The Amazing World of Gumball, Oddbods) complete the core team as story editors.
Space Chickens in Space is a 2D tradigital co-production between Mexico-based animation outfit Ánima (Legend Quest); London-based CAKE, Australian animation producer Studio Moshi, (Rocket Dog) and Dublin-based Gingerbread Animation.
