BOT VFX (aka BOT), the VFX outsourcing company, has recruited Frederick Lissau to its ranks as the company continues to expand its client base and breadth of services. Lissau brings 20 years of production experience in VFX, Animation and Games with himself, having worked in North America, Asia and Europe. He’s tasked with the goal of deepening BOT’s many existing relationships in New York and expanding into newer ones in and around the New York area.
BOT, chief, Hitesh Shah notes, “While we’ve had many post houses and VFX facilities in New York as clients for the past 8 years, this year we wanted to establish more direct presence in this market by having producers on the ground in this great city which I used to call home. Frederick is a superb addition to our team because he has had both that global exposure living and working in different parts of the world, and experience that cuts across several creative domains. That’s a real rarity and we expect that’ll create tremendous value to our client relations.”
Lissau started his management career in feature animation working on films at Walt Disney Feature Animation, DreamWorks Animation and Sony Pictures Animation. At Sony Imageworks, he supported shows such as Click and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Lissau then moved to London and helped build from the ground up the team that created The Tale of Despereaux for Universal Pictures. After London he managed motion capture projects including InFamous 2 for Sony Computer Entertainment America at their facility in San Diego.
Later he spent two years in Vietnam as director of production helping to nurture and grow Virtuos/Sparx an outsourcing studio from 40 to over 130 full time staff. Prior to moving to New York, Lissau produced interactive projects with Float Hybrid in San Francisco.
